Prescription Drugs
We all know that prescriptions can be expensive, particularly if you have an ongoing condition. This plan is designed to give you ways to reduce your out-of-pocket costs.

What You Need to Know

  • There's only one drug plan. You'll pay less if you choose to use generic and order medications through the mail. In fact, if you use generic and mail order, you have the opportunity to get your prescriptions for free.

  • To maximize your savings, you'll want to talk to your doctor about generic drug options.

  • If you can't take a generic drug or there's not one available, you’ll still have coverage through the plan.

  • If you elect the HSA, you must meet the HSA's combined medical and drug deductible before the plan begins to pay for any drug costs.

  • To find out how much you'll pay for your medications, visit www.caremark.com.

Your Out-of-Pocket Costs

  • Deductible (combined for retail pharmacy and mail order) for Brand 50/50 coverage only: $50 for individuals and $100 for families (Remember: if you elect the HSA, you must meet the HSA's deductible before the plan begins to pay for drug expenses.)

  • The maximum coinsurance you'll pay per prescription (generic and brand-name): $100 at a retail pharmacy or $200 if you buy it through the mail
