To help meet your retirement savings goals, it's important to regularly review your investment strategy and determine whether you're on track by asking yourself:
- How has my investment mix performed? How have the funds that I've invested in performed compared to other similar funds available in the Alcoa Savings Plan? Am I getting the return that I expected? Should I make any changes?
- Have I experienced any life changes that could affect my goals or investment strategy? Have I recently gotten married or had a child? Should I adjust my contribution level or investment mix based on these changes?
- Do I need to rebalance the amount that's in each of the funds I've chosen? When I decided what funds to invest in, I created a certain investment mix (such as 60% stocks, 30% bonds, and 10% stable value funds). Do the current amounts in each fund reflect my original investment mix? Or do I need to reallocate my investments?
After taking stock of your investment strategy, you may decide to contribute more to the Alcoa Saving Plan or change your investment funds to suit your goals. What's important is that you regularly monitor how your investments are performing and make adjustments as needed to reach your retirement savings goals.
